TO-BE Process
What it is
The TO-BE process is the improved way of working you propose after the change. It shows the new steps, roles and systems and is designed to remove the pain points found in the AS-IS process. Designing it usually involves workshops with the people who will do the work, to check that the new flow is practical and not just tidy on paper.
Why it matters
It gives stakeholders a concrete picture of the future to agree on, and it becomes the basis for requirements, training and measuring benefit. The comparison between the AS-IS and TO-BE versions also shows exactly what will change for each role, which helps with training and communication.
Example
In the TO-BE process for Brightpath Logistics, drivers complete a short mobile form at the door and the details reach the system immediately, removing the evening re-typing step entirely. The analyst also records which steps are new, which are removed and which people or systems change roles, so the effect on teams is visible.
